Hey everyone! So, it is finally November and that means one thing… It is actually Norsevember! This whole idea was conjured up and created by Alex over at Spells and Spaceships – he’s done a great introductory to the whole thing here.
I think it’s a really fun idea to have a bit of a theme to your reading for a month, so I’ll be joining in and reading only Norse/Viking themed books all this month.
Oh, and as part of Norsevember, Alex has also made a whole bunch of people their own viking longship banner! I think he has done well over 60 of them, which is pretty impressive! Anyway, say hello to my ship, the Drekahringur!
But Jack, this is a book blog, so what Norse books will you be reading, I hear you cry? Well I plan on reading:
- Vikings by Neil Oliver
- Northern Wrath by Thilde Kold Holdt
- Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman (this is a re-read)
So you’ll get two new reviews at least, and I’ll be posting my review for Norse Mythology on Twitter, as well as my old review for The Wolf in the Whale by Jordanna Max Brodsky (another Norse themed book).
Anything else is going to be a bit of a surprise as I fully admit to being a bit of a last minute blogger. Though, I am thinking of maybe doing a short story that will fit in here as well. But no promises as real-life sometimes gets in the way!
Are you going to be getting involved in Norsevember? Have you got any good book recommendations that I could try and read too? Let me know in the comments!
