The Library Lover’s Book Tag

I saw this book tag a few weeks back on nickimags@TheSecretLibraryBookBlog and thought it would be fun. As simple as that!

Plus, I am making a special, dedicated effort to use my library more this year. It’s free and I get to read great books… What’s not to love!

  1. How often do you visit your local library?

I try to get there at least once a fortnight. This might not sound like very often, but since you can take out fourteen books at a time (I think) then this is quite enough for me. Not that I ever take out that many.

  1. Are you the type of person who checks out more books than you can read or are you someone who checks out the exact amount of books you intend to read before they are due?

I try to only take out books that I will read in the next few days. For me, this is realistically only a couple at a time, but there are usually a few more for my girlfriend too. It is always tempting to take out loads, but it would be a waste as I am not reading them all at once. That would deprive someone else of a book if I took it out and it just sat there!

  1. How old were you when you got your first library card?

Erm…. whatever the minimum age was back in my local library in the 90s. My mum and dad took me there all the time as a small child.

  1. Do you go to your library for a particular book or do you check out anything that piques your interest?

I like to use the online search feature to keep a track of when particular books are free, so I usually go for specific books. But, I’m only human (oh no, my secrets out!) so I do get tempted by other books every now and again!

  1. Do you only check out books or do you also get DVDs, audiobooks, etc.?

I have to admit, I only take books out. I have Netflix and Amazon Prime (other streaming services are available), as well as a large DVD collection, and I’m not a huge audiobook fan. Personal preference.

  1. From what section of the library do you check out most of your books?

Fantasy, definitely. They even have little unicorn stickers on their sleeves! Sci-Fi has a spaceship and historical fiction has a castle for those who are interested/easily amused like me.

  1. What is your favourite part of using your local library?

Free books, obviously! Honestly, it is the only thing I use it for. Maybe I am not making the most of it.

Hopefully you enjoyed this book tag. Do you guys and gals use your local library much? I hope you do, and if not, then maybe this will have encouraged you!
